Stephen Blatt, MD is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with extensive experience managing eye diseases and vision problems. Dr. Blatt’s areas of focus include dry eye disease, glaucoma, floaters, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, blurry vision, and loss of vision. After receiving his MD with Honors from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2006, Dr. Blatt completed his Transitional Year Internship in General Surgery & Internal Medicine at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, IL in 2007. He then completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL in 2010. He is an attending physician at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Medical Center, where he has received multiple awards for Excellence in Patient Care. At Hines VA, Dr. Blatt teaches and supervises ophthalmology residents in clinic, and serves as a research mentor for residents and medical students. His research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed academic journals, most recently in the Journal of Academic Ophthalmology in September 2022. Dr. Blatt has been an invited speaker for national audiences on a number of occasions. Most recently, in 2022, he has given podium talks for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology. In August 2022, Dr. Blatt gave a TED Talk for the TEDx VA National Conference. Away from work, Dr. Blatt loves spending time with his wife and daughter, and is a loyal sports fan (Bear Down!).
